24th May 2013
Budding Writer at Rathfriland High School!

Well done to Emma Frazer of 10A1 who won first prize in a short story writing competition organised by Banbridge Library and Banbridge District Council.

The competition was organised for Community Relations Week whose aim is to ‘Promote a peaceful and fair society based on reconciliation and mutual respect.’

The title for the short story was ‘How would you sellNorthern Irelandas a place of Culture?’ Emma produced a refreshing personal account of culture in N.Ireland from a teenage point of view.

At the reception for prize winners, Emma received the Perpetual Tyrone Crystal Plaque with Amazon vouchers and cinema pass. As she gained first prize, all of her class were invited for lunch at Banbridge Bowling Pavilion. They also enjoyed a storytelling session with local poet and storyteller Steve Lally.

Well done Emma!
