Environmental Youth Speak Competition Success

Environmental Youth Speak Competition Success

Environmental Youth Speak is a public speaking competition organised by the three NI Waste Management Groups. Banbridge Council Area held their local heat for schools in the area on Thursday 26th February 2015 at the Council Buildings in Banbridge. The topic this year for the Senior section was ‘Food Glorious Food, why waste it? ’

Two very brave Year 10 Rathfriland High School pupils (Ellie Heenan 10A1 and Kate Bingham 10A1) worked hard on writing and performing their speeches. Fortunately, the hard work paid off as both girls were commended on their excellent performances. Undoubtedly, there was some tough competition from Banbridge Academy and Dromore High School but Kate successfully won this local heat! Well done! Best wishes to Kate as she prepares for the Grand Final in Island Civic Centre, Lisburn on Tuesday 10th March.
