Rathfriland High School says ‘NO' to Bullying!

Rathfriland High School is marking Anti-Bullying week this year in verse! All pupils in Years 8-10 were asked to write a poem to highlight bullying issues on the theme of ‘Together we can make a difference’. Bullying can happen anywhere and to anyone, in lots of different ways and pupils were asked to reflect this in their poetry.

In school increasingly, it is important to raise the issue of Internet Safety with young people and the possibility that bullying may now take place in the cyber world, on social networking websites, through on line games or by text message.

Pupils were asked to think about where bullying happens, how it happens and the role we can play as a school in tackling it. It was very difficult to select winners but the following poems address the key issues, stories and our responsibility to END BULLYING NOW!

Our winners:

Year 8: Stephen Watson 8A2

Year 9: Mia Walker 9A1

Year 10: Lydia Boyd and Ellie Heenan 10A1
