Rathfriland High School takes to the Yellow Brick Road
“WE'RE off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz”- and we're going with Rathfriland High School pupils! The Wizard of Oz begins its trip along the Yellow Brick Road on Wednesday 8th December and Thursday 9th December at 7.30 pm in the School Assembly Hall.
The Wizard of Oz follows on from the huge success of the School’s production of ‘Grease’ two years ago.
Taking the lead role of Dorothy is Year 12 pupil Rebecca Boyle, who played Rizzo in ‘Grease’. Of course, no production of The Wizard of Oz is complete without that fantastic trio of the Scarecrow (David Blakely, Year 12), the Tin Man (Kyle McConnell, Year 12) and the Cowardly Lion (James Boyd, Year 8).
The show also includes pupils from across all year groups in school including many of the school’s youngest pupils from Year 8.
Come along and join us in a walk down the Yellow Brick Road. Enjoy those familiar songs such as “Over the Rainbow”, “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” and “If I only had a Brain”.
Tickets for the Wizard of Oz will be priced at £5 and can be bought from the School Office now.
