Year 10 Sentinus,Workshop

Year 10 Sentinus,Workshop

On Monday 7 March Sentinus, a company who promote STEM subjects, were in school to deliver an app development workshop to all Year 10 pupils.

After a brief opening session on the history of computer progress pupils were split into pairs and each pair got a laptop computer which they used to design their own apps.  They used App-inventor to create the apps, including a talking robot, a magic 8-ball and a quiz.  They then tested their apps by downloading and installing them onto an android tablet.

The workshop was thoroughly enjoyed by all and pupils were able to develop key skills including teamwork and problem-solving as well as a basic understanding of coding, a highly valued skill in today’s job market.

Our thanks to Mr James Connor from Sentinus for leading the workshops.
