Year 11 STORMONT TRIP

On Tuesday 29th April the Year 11 pupils of Rathfriland High School made their way to Parliament Buildings at Stormont. As part of the LLW course the pupils have been looking at key democratic institutions and in particular the role of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Upon arrival, the pupils were given a presentation by a member of the Assembly Education Service. After this the pupils participated in a mock election. To finish off the visit, the pupils were able to sit in the public gallery and listen to MLA’S debate current issues that affect the people of Northern Ireland. Following a number of group photographs, the pupils made their way back to South Down.
