On Wednesday 12th March 2013, four Year 10 pupils competed in the second stage of an All Island cookery competition called Take Away My Way. Students were given the opportunity to create tasty, healthy versions of their favourite takeaway.
Fred McCauley (the local butcher) sponsored the event and provided meat for the competition. He also judged the dishes, giving competitors useful advice.
Dishes included:
- Better for you burger (Turkey burger)
- The new age of curries (Butternut Squash curry)
- The taste of Thailand (Thai curry)
- Kebabtastic (Beef kebabs)
