Bun Sale fundraiser for the New Beginnings
2nd Apr 2015
Before Easter, Year 10 Geography classes ran a fundraiser for the New Beginnings orphanage in Uganda.
They baked buns using Fairtrade ingredients and sold them at a bun sale on Thursday 26th March. At the bun sale there were also raffles for an Easter Hamper and large Easter Egg as well as ‘guess the number of eggs in the jar’.
The lucky winners were:
- Guess the number of eggs - Mrs Laffin
- Easter Hamper - Sarah Hetherington 12A1
- Thornton’s Easter Egg - George Belam 9A2
A big thanks must go to Tesco Bridgewater and Banbridge who provided all of the ingredients and prizes.
There was also a non-uniform day on Friday 27th March and pupils paid £1 to come to school in their own clothes.
A massive £715.20 was raised in total – well done to all those who took part in organising the events, bought buns or raffle tickets or came in out of uniform.
