GCSE Results
Once again the pupils of Rathfriland High School have achieved excellent results in their GCSE examinations. The results further consolidate the schools reputation and status as a high achieving establishment in which pupils enjoy tremendous success. This success reflects the effective collaboration between school, parents and pupils. I am delighted to note that 57% of all pupils achieved 5+ GCSE passes at grades A* - C. Indeed almost one third of all pupils passed 8 or 9+ GCSEs at A* - C , a fantastic achievement. Once again a significant clutch of A* and A grades were secured, reflecting the tremendous ability and industry of our students.
A number of students deserve individual praise and recognition for their exceptional performances.
Suzanne Bingham 3A*, 1A, 3B, 2C and 1A* (Short Course)
Jena Magennis 3A*, 1A, 4B, 1C and 1A* (Short Course)
Robert Frazer 3A*, 2A, 4B and 1A (Short Course)
Beyond this, many pupils also achieved passes in Entry Level subjects and Occupational Studies, a recent introduction to the school to enhance our vocational provision in school in association with the Southern Regional College.
I would also like to congratulate our pupils for their success, industry and determination. I would also like to thank all staff here in school for their professionalism, dedication and hard work in preparing their classes for these examinations. Finally I would extend my gratitude to parents, guardians, families and the broader community for their continued support for our school.
