Over the past few weeks, year 10 have undertaken an exciting challenge set for them by award-winning, Derby-based, magazine collage artist, Giles Davies.
The year group were tasked with recreating a landscape of their choice using imagery sourced from photographs and magazines; Giles also challenged the pupils to hide food within their landscapes! From the outstanding work produced, Giles selected three lucky winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and offered insightful feedback to the students.
The artist expressed the difficulty he faced in judging the competition due to the incredibly high standard of work, awarding extra commendations to those who demonstrated excellent skill and creativity. Additionally, Giles very generously gifted the school a signed print of his work to inspire the pupils and to acknowledge their hard work.
The winning collages were kindly framed by Cosy Cottage Crafts.
