Last week we were thrilled to take part in the Banbridge Rugby Club Girls Tag Rugby Tournament. This was contested alongside Banbridge Academy and High School. Despite not having a great deal of experience prior to the tournament, the girls were a credit to themselves and the school, losing by one score to the Academy and contesting well against a comparatively very experienced High School side. There were some genuine signs of potential within the squad and the girls can be credited for their motivation and effort. It’s also great to hear that some of the girls have attended the Banbridge RFC evening sessions, following this tournament and we will be posting up further details for these practices when they recommence in August. Our player of the tournament went to Rachel Graham, who showed a willingness to get involved with every phase of play, with great effect. Well done girls!
