Manchester Trip 2008
Manchester Trip 23rd June to 27th June 2008 - a wonderful week.
Monday - Our journey down to Manchester arriving in time for dinner and to settle into the Britannia Country House Hotel.
Tuesday - The Blue Planet Aquarium with a walk through shark tank and otter feeding. Next to The Cheshire Oaks Outlet Centre for a lesson in financial capability, and lots of it!
Back to the hotel for dinner and then to the Trafford Centre for the cinema.
Wednesday - The Theatre of Dreams with the added bonus of seeing Sir Bobby Charlton on three occasions. Even the Chelsea and Liverpool supporters enjoyed the occasion. The Manchester United Museum Tour and the shop also proved eventful, particularly with their most recent silverware on display for all to see.
Off to the Lowry Centre in the afternoon for some art history and appreciation of LS Lowry's work followed by a practical workshop.
Dinner in the hotel and then shopping at the Trafford Centre - using maths and geography mapping skills were to the fore to manage such a vast complex!
Thursday - An early start for Alton Towers, a wet day did not dampen anyone spirits. Fun, adrenalin fueled rides, plastic ponchos and lots of laughter would sum up the whole experience.
Back to the hotel to pack and sort out for our return home.
Friday - The journey home stopping off at Gretna Green.
A wonderful week thanks to everyone.
