U14 Rugby team in Semi Final Action
Our U14 Rugby team were unfortunately defeated by Ballyclare Secondary 38-17 in the Semi-Final of the High Schools Trophy. The boys can hold their heads high as they faced a number of talented individuals in the opposition side, who ultimately made the difference on the day. After a slow start by the team, Edward Harbinson crossed the white wash after a characteristically aggressive and physical carry, breaking through a number of tackles. The boys should be credited for the fight and determination they displayed, by coming back into the game in the second half having been behind 28-5 at one point. Two try’s in quick succession, firstly by Man of the Match Cody Barr and secondly by captain Toby Johnston, gave us a glimmer of hope, although unfortunately for us Ballyclare responded well scoring a further two trys. The boys have improved a great deal from where they were at this point last season and they should feel very proud of their achievements. We look forward to seeing their continued development and maybe next season they can go a step further.
