Year 10 STEM Event
8th Jul 2013
Those pupils studying GCSE Technology & Design or BTEC Engineering next year had the opportunity to visit the Ulster Aviation Society to engage in a number of STEM workshops. The society is based at the site of the former Maze prison, just outside Lisburn. The pupils joined other pupils from the other BALC schools to build a hovercraft with the army, learn how turbines work with the Royal Navy, investigate the possibilities of renewable energy and finally engage in a networking session with various STEM job providers. The pupils found the venue very interesting with many real life examples of STEM in action surrounding them.
