Year 11 GCSE Business Studies Coca-Cola Factory Trip
March 2015
Year 11 GCSE Business Studies pupils enjoyed a recent visit to the Coca-Cola Factory to view the production processes of one of Northern Ireland’s most famous brands.
On arrival we received complimentary drinks and went to watch a short video clip of the history of the factory. After we put on our headsets we were then given a tour of the production facilities and the pupils observed first-hand how each bottle is processed and turned into our favourite drinks. We got to smell the secret ingredient that is used for making Coke! Next we went to the interactive room, where we played games and had the opportunity to purchase Coca-Cola merchandise.
The tour linked with many of the topics studied at GCSE and pupils were able to learn about the application of, for example, Quality Control, Health & Safety, the Impact of Technology and Marketing.
It ended all too soon, and we quickly found ourselves back at the beginning, although we did get to go to McDonalds. It was a valuable and enjoyable experience and everyone was pleased to come home with a free key ring and bottle of Riverock flavored sparkling water!
Finally many thanks to Mrs Budde and Miss Orr who assisted us on our trip!
