Our Year 12 Engineering Class got some first hand experience exploring the design facility for Thompson Aero Seating this month. We ‘flew’ business class around the factory, testing out some luxurious, premium seats and saw how quality control is assessed. We were privileged to witness one of the biggest and most expensive tests that they administer to discover how new seats would perform in an air traffic collision.
We were treated to a tour and given a presentation about careers and pathways into the Aerospace industry which has really given our pupils much to think about. We were genuinely treated like first class passengers by the staff and would to thank TAS for their time, generosity and the invaluable opportunity. We hope to be back again next year!
