On Friday 16th September 2011, the Year 12 Geography class accompanied by Mrs Tumilty, Mr Barron and Mrs Butler, set out on the annual fieldtrip to the River Shimna. They visited four sites along the course of the river. Things started well at Site 1 at the source of the river which was in the heart of the Mournes. However, by Site 3 in Tollymore Forest, the weather had turned, and everyone got very wet. However, the Year 12s kept smiling despite the weather and completed their measurements very professionally! They are now in the process of writing up their findings as part of their Controlled Assessment for their GCSE Geography.
