On Tuesday, 21st October 2008 year eleven and twelve French classes took part in an Opportunity Europe event at St Georges Market. There were various cultural workshops representing different countries and numerous information stalls on the European Union and career opportunities in Europe as well as language learning opportunities. Pupils had the opportunity to talk to representatives of various organisations such as CILT, EcoWorld, European Parliament, British Council Equality for All. They also had the opportunity to collect useful resources and information, mix with pupils from other schools and take part in cultural activities such as Ulster Scots dancing, Salsa dancing, and speak with a local radio DJ.
